Qatar and Turkey have pledged to work together to ensure stability in Afghanistan. Qatar’s foreign minister has reiterated his position on the situation in Afghanistan. He noted that Doha would continue to work to enhance humanitarian and economic cooperation in war-torn Afghanistan.

At a joint news conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Doha, Qatar, on Monday (December 6th), Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said the situation at Kabul International Airport was chaotic after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

Qatar is working on these. He noted that Qatar was working with its allies Turkey and Taliban officials to ensure that the situation was brought under control.

After the two countries came together as a strategic part of the 7th anniversary of the Qatar-Turkey dialogue, Sheikh Mohammed sat down with Turkish Foreign Minister Melt Cavusoglu and talked to reporters about various issues.

The two-day meeting was co-chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting is expected to end on Tuesday after at least 12 agreements were signed between the two countries in various fields, including military, health, tourism, and education.

“Turkey wants to work for peace and stability in Afghanistan,” Mevlুতt Cavusoglu said. He called on the international community to engage in dialogue with the Taliban.

He added that humanitarian assistance is urgently needed in Afghanistan. That’s what we’re working on. He said Turkey was cooperating with Qatar to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and ensure the reopening of Kabul International Airport.
